What is Barbershop?
Barbershop is the musical art of four-part vocal harmony with no instrumental accompaniment. Traditional barbershop is different from modern a cappella singing in that its music clearly denotes a tonal center with emphasis on Barbershop (dominant and secondary dominant) seventh chords that resolve primarily around the circle of fifths. Barbershop music is also known for its symmetrical form and standard meter. For more information go to: http://www.rmr8.org/about/barbershop
